Lesson Program

Welcome to LDS Lesson Program

How exciting, you are thinking of lessons for yourself or a loved one! 

Lemon Dal's Lesson program will not disappoint you, this is where the magic begins whether you are 7 years old or you are 40years old. It is never too late to find a passion for learning the art of having a 1200Ibs dance partner. 

Equipment Required

o Proper footwear (Heel required for Beginners, in Novice and above riders will require proper riding boots [tall boots or paddock boots with half chaps])

o OEF or CRHRA Rider insurance (All levels)

o Proper riding helmet (All Levels)

o Chest protector (If in a level that jumping occurs, [Intermediate/Experienced required])

o Appropriate pants (NO JEANS, in intermediate/experienced riders will require proper riding pants)

o Proper riding gloves (Required for All Intermediate/Experienced riders)

o Sunglasses as needed (sport strap required for all levels with glasses)

Levels to riding and what to expect for the future

Lemon Dal is going to be developing a lesson program focused on overall horsemanship and riding principals to ensure a well -rounded individual.  


Beginner:  

o 4-10y/o

o Max 2 child/lesson

o 4 Riding, 1 horsemanship lessons/month


Novice:

o 8-13y/o

o Max 2 children/lesson

4 Riding, 2 Horsemanship lessons/month 


Intermediate:

o 12-16y/o

o Max 2 children/lesson

o 5 Riding, 1 advanced horsemanship lesson/month


Experienced:  

o 14-18y/o

o Max 2 children/lesson

o 6 Riding, 1 advanced Horsemanship lesson/month


  

Beginner and Novice Levels are the area People are focusing on learning/solidifying seat/position, walk, trot, canter, poles, trails, steering and confidence 

Intermediate Level children will get an introduction into Jumping, basics of Dressage, fundamentals of Cross-Country

Experienced Level will expose children to simple Hunter/Jumper courses, basic Cross-Country courses and elementary Dressage classes

Horsemanship lessons are not an option as there will be a written Evaluation for Novice-experienced on evaluation ride day. Every fall we will hold a test your knowledge to see if you riding level and horsemanship level are equal. 


All riders will have a Minimum 8 evaluation rides: one on one with the coach for Brushing, tacking up, the lesson and un-tacking to ensure the rider can go into a semi-private setting. All ages described above are an estimation.
